I woke up Tuesday morning to severe stomach cramps..they kind where you feel like someone has grabbed your stomach from the inside and is just grabbing and twisting.
Letting out a fart here or there or a burp helps but only momentarily, 5 or 10 minutes later you get slammed by another one...and then hours later..the RUNS. Although you feel better after letting it out.
My girlfriend is an ER triage nurse and she sees a lot of this. She described it as a "24 hour stomach flu" due to a virus, and she was right. It took a bit longer..from Tuesday morning until Wednesday afternoon for the symptoms to come and go.
I cancelled my scheduled patients on Tuesday for the first time in several years. I don't call in sick, it's just not me.
My girlfriend really came to my rescue by bringing me WonTon soup and Sprite..she said the bland soup and the sparkling soda was just the thing..followed by Gatorade and crackers to replenish the missing whatchamacallits that I had expelled from my system.
So much better today!
Oh yeah.."electrolytes"

Sorry to hear that! I hate getting sick.

Its amazing how fast you can get over these type of things. I don't get sick much but when I do I shake it off pretty fast. In fact I just got off the treadmill for the second time in the past week. I gotta get back into that routine I was in a year or two back.. I had lost 30 lbs and I was so limber I could even touch my toes. Every time I spend 30 minutes on there getting the heart rate up...it reminds me of how good it feels.
If you don't push yourself to exercise at least 30 minutes 3x a week..just try.
It can make all the difference in the world.

I walk several miles a day, almost every day, plus some other flexibility-oriented stuff.

You must be in really good shape. I think it's time for a fully body gallery picture.

LOL I'm in better shape than I used to be, but not as good as I once was.

True, but even a 2 year old could say that if you really think about it.
