I believe some of you here may remember me and "Hello!" to those I have yet to meet.   Smiley

I certainly do remember you.

So what do we have here...

A member who calls themselves "The Grudge", goes to the trouble of making an account, setting up a profile, and then they make one post to Finepoint...

Not "Hi Finepoint, I remember you!"

just..."I certainly remember you"... as in ... I have a grudge that I just won't let go?

My apologies if I'm wrong...but if I'm right?  Let it go... when you carry the anger... it consumes you, and the person who has caused it..they own you. I speak from experience on this one.

It's just not worth it.

Hi wizer,

No, no I have no "grudge" against Fine Point and in fact he's a funny guy whom I've had a nice interaction with on another site.

I only responded to him as I was surprised to see his post here, that's all.  Cheesy

I should have ended my post to him with a  Wink because I like him.  I guess that post sounded a bit passive-aggresive? No, just tongue-in cheek.

If/when he reads this here (and possibly responds) I will reveal to him my alias from the other site that he knows.

My apologies...I assumed based on your name (and the influx of new members here lately -now banned- who seem to be on a mission), plus the wording in your post...you know what I get for assuming!

No apologies needed. You are doing your job as an admin and that is important and respectable.

I don't know about respectable...nor important...

The purpose of The Matrix is to give folks a place to come and hang their hats..but it differs from several of the other boards that many have are familiar with, in that over here, it's "Flame Free", meaning that people can say what they want about themselves, their lives, post questions, comments...without being cursed out and exploited by those who have nothing better to do then enjoy taking shots at others...there are other boards for that if they so choose...

I bring to the table 46 years of experience including my failed marriage, rebuilding my life without my children and many of the assets I have worked hard for this past 20 years, as well as brief intervals of depression and anxiety...all of which is hopefully behind me. Plus hundreds of hours on relationship boards exchanging thoughts, ideas, support..with others going through the same, or worse. Many who come to these boards are going through their own crisis, many are lonely, feeling lost, unsure of who to turn to...I offer advice and support to the best of my ability, and in exchange I get the benefit of maybe learning something new about myself, and someone else in the process.

Yes, very good.

All that you describe here sounds positive and productive.  Certain tactical practices on the Internet, while being an enjoyable, educational and ego-affirming hobby (that can become an obsession) only reach a certain depth; real life is wrought with mortal, moral, and common realities that at the end of the day trump the flame (flamer)-wars so common and nasty. That is not tactical, only rude and depraved, often Angry

There are forums such as these that I speak of where I cannot truly express my views or beliefs: I am a Rightwing-Conservative that voted for Obama, I battle with Bi-polar/OCD and am currently in treatment, I'm a Jew by birth and a Catholic by choice, my fiancee is a Cuban Mulatto and the blatant racism exhibited in some forums is disgusting.

All-in-all, I am totally against censorship but I also choose my friends wisely.  I appreciate healthy debate (where we can all learn something, hopefully) but am not willing to endure attacks by know-nothing trash with an undefined axe to grind. I prefer intellectual pursuits that lead to a finer quality of life.  I consider myself open-minded while standing by my beliefs firmly (but with a strong rein upon my tongue)

This appears to be a promising venue and I look forward to time well spent here.
