I'm a bit preoccupied...moving to my new condo, the endless list of things I need to buy, things that need to be fixed, assembled, put in their places..I need a new bedroom set, a kitchen table...anyway my mind isn't "100%" on doing eye exams..
So this old guy...he's seated behind the lens flipping machine...there's an adjustment for the forehead rest that pushes the patient a bit away from the machine so their head isn't firmly against it..his forehead was shaped in such a way that he was flat against it..I probably should have given the adjustment dial a half a twist to move him back, but I didn't...I go to close one of his eyes..I turn the dial and the thing keeps sticking..I rotate it left, right, and there's resistance to it..I'm thinking, "great, time to get this into the shop for a $300 repair" when the guy suddenly says "Doc, my eyelid is stuck in the machine".
Oops.
Poor guy! (I hadda laugh, though!)
